Nojirikopia
A lake-shore leisure spot that delights children
Lake Nojiri is formed by the Iwase Dam in Kobayashi City. On its shore, surrounded by a lush natural world, is the leisure-land Nojirikopia, which draws the eye with its melon-shaped dome. Visitors are welcomed by monument statues of frogs, the symbol of the facility.
The playground equipment area contains large combination play equipment, which is very popular among children, as well as go-karts with real engines, sky cycling, a children’s train, mini golf, and a covered table-tennis area, enabling everyone from small children to adults to really get moving and have fun. Adults might find themselves drawn in by the traditional hand-made toy area, with stilts and bamboo dragonflies.
The summer sees the opening of a swimming pool with two different water slides. The pool makes use of natural spring water, and its coolness is pleasant and perfect for the hot summer. There’s also a pool for infants, so you can bring young children with peace of mind.
[Open] See the official website. Open every year from mid-July to August 31
[Facilities] Toilets, changing rooms, paid lockers, showers (unheated)
The melon-shaped dome, inspired by Nojiri Town’s specialty melon, houses trampolines, a shooting area, video games, and more. You can have fun here regardless of the weather (only open on weekends and holidays.)
Nojirikopia offers a somewhat nostalgic, retro atmosphere, where the whole family can fully enjoy themselves.
