| Miyazaki
Prefecture is located in the South Eastern corner
of the island of Kyushu (the Southernmost of the
four main islands of Japan). The Western area
of the Prefecture is mountainous, consisting of
the Kyushu mountain range and the Kirishima volcanic
zone, and the Eastern border is the coastline
of the Pacific Ocean.
Miyazaki has a total
area of approximately 7,734 km², and a population
of 1,166,074 people. In addition to its year-round
warm climate, Miyazaki's weather is among the
best in Japan based on the amount of fine days,
sunshine, and precipitation, due to the influence
of warm currents off the coast.
Throughout the year
many professional sports teams (in particular
Baseball and Soccer teams) take advantage of the
beautiful weather and abundant sports facilities
to hold training camps. It is possible to play
golf all year round, and there are numerous world
famous surf spots - Miyazaki really is a sportsman's
paradise!
Miyazaki plays a prominent
part in Japanese mythology, as it is believed
to be the home of the Gods who created Japan.
There are many places in Miyazaki that have links
to these Gods and their deeds that are mentioned
in the ancient myths and legends, and many reminders
of this distant past, such as the Saitobaru Burial
Mounds still remain today.
Due to its long history
as a holiday destination, Miyazaki boasts abundant
accommodation facilities and service levels in
these establishments that are second to none.
The whole of Miyazaki has a relaxed tropical atmosphere,
and we are looking forward meeting your tour or
convention needs.
